SUMMARY

Cocoa butter is a natural fat sourced from the seeds of cocoa beans, which are primarily used in the production of chocolate.Cocoa butter is commonly used in skincare products like creams, lotions and balms, as a rich emollient to provide intense hydration and lock in moisture to leave skin soft and smooth. Its natural fats and antioxidants can also help improve skin's elasticity and protect it from environmental stressors which makes it a popular ingredient to address dry, rough or chapped skin.

ORIGIN

Cocoa butter is sourced from the seeds of the cacao tree (theobroma cacao), which is native to tropical regions in Central and South America. The seeds are harvested, fermented, roasted and then pressed to extract the cocoa butter, which has been used for centuries in cosmetics and as a primary ingredient in chocolate production.

SKIN TOLERANCE

Cocoa butter is generally well-tolerated on most skin and considered safe, with a low risk of irritation.
