Glycerin, also known as glycerol, is a colorless, odorless and viscous liquid that belongs to the alcohol family. It's a naturally occurring substance found in various fats and oils, both animal and plant-based. Glycerin is a common ingredient in skincare products like creams and lotions that improve skin's moisture balance. It’s also used as a humectant to attract and retain water in the skin.

ORIGIN

Glycerin can be sourced from both plant and animal sources. In skincare and cosmetics, it's commonly sourced through a process called saponification of fats and oils which makes it a versatile and widely used ingredient.

SKIN TOLERANCE

Glycerin is generally well-tolerated on skin and considered safe for most, even those with sensitive skin.
