Lecithin is a naturally occurring fatty substance found in plant and animal tissues, that’s used to blend water and oil-based ingredients in formulas to improve product texture, consistency and overall performance. It’s most commonly used in skincare products like creams, lotions, serums and cleansers.

ORIGIN

Lecithin can be sourced from various natural sources like soybeans, sunflower seeds and egg yolks, with soybean lecithin as one of the most used plant-based sources.

SKIN TOLERANCE

Lecithin is generally well-tolerated on skin and considered safe, with rare cases of irritation or adverse reactions.
