Sodium Hyaluronate

INCI

Sodium Hyaluronate

SUMMARY

Sodium hyaluronate is a sodium salt sourced from hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in the human body and connective tissues. It’s used in skincare products like serums, eye creams and anti-aging formulas to hydrate and plump because it can attract and retain water molecules and provide deep, long-lasting moisture. Sodium hyaluronate is also found in products created to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and promote a more youthful complexion.

ORIGIN

Sodium hyaluronate is a manufactured form of hyaluronic acid, which can be created through a fermentation process that uses bacteria or other microorganisms. While hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the human body and in some animal tissues, the sodium hyaluronate used in skincare products is created in laboratories to ensure purity and consistency.

SKIN TOLERANCE

Sodium hyaluronate is generally well-tolerated by skin because of its compatibility with the body's natural hyaluronic acid.
