Toluene

Toluene is not generally used as an ingredient in skincare products. It's a volatile organic compound and solvent commonly used in industrial applications, particularly chemicals, paints and adhesives.

SUMMARY

Toluene is a colorless, flammable liquid with a strong, sweet and pungent odor. It's not a skincare ingredient but is instead primarily used in industrial and manufacturing processes. Toluene has no appropriate or safe use in skincare products. In fact, its presence in skincare products would be a cause for concern, as it's not intended for skin contact and can be harmful when absorbed through skin.

ORIGIN

Toluene is sourced from the distillation of petroleum crude oil.

SKIN TOLERANCE

Toluene is not tolerated on skin and should not come into contact with skin. It's considered a hazardous chemical that can cause skin irritation, redness and in some cases, dermatitis upon direct contact.
